LIHUE — Just a few days remain to take in the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School student art show at the Kauai Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center.
“We have nearly 600 students enrolled in art at CKMS,” said Kristi Gibbs, one of three art instructors at the school. “There are nearly 500 pieces on display.”
Gibbs said the CKMS instructors are extremely grateful to the Kauai Society of Artists for allowing the students to use the Kukui Grove gallery space for its third exhibition which opened last Friday with a reception for the artists.
The show closes on Mother’s Day with the Safeway store in Hokulei Village providing refreshments to celebrate the occasion.
In addition to Gibbs, the other art instructors are Leslie Frasier and Tim Saunders. Debbie Badua is the school’s principal.
