Kapaa High School’s boys volleyball team reached the championship game of the New City Nissan Boys Volleyball State Championships — Division II state tournament.
The No. 2 seeded Kapaa (14-0) defeated Saint Francis of the Interscholastic League of Honolulu in straight sets in the semifinals Friday at Hawaii Baptist Academy in Honolulu — 25-17, 25-18 and 25-14.
Kapaa will face the winner of the semifinals match between No. 1 Hawaii Baptist and of the ILH and No. 4 Molokai of the Maui Interscholastic League in the finals.
The D2 championship match is scheduled for 5 p.m. today at the Neal S. Blaisdell Center in Honolulu. The result of the HBA/Molokai match was not available by press time.
