Rudy, the Chief Canine Officer at the Wilcox Health, will be helping Saturday when the bike safety event gets underway at 8 a.m. (Faith Campbell said that way people won’t have to worry about the heat). Rudy was helping the Leadership Kauai team with their health career pathways Wednesday when Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School students had an opportunity to “save” a victim of a shark bite who had taken off part of his leg.
Over at the convention hall, Megan Nii’s students had a chance to see Toby (Penny Ono said he’s a certified therapy dog) in action during practice for their Finale on May 17 at the convention hall.
A lot of things going on this Boy’s Day (er, Children’s Day, er Older Americans Month) as Josie Pablo hosts the Mahelona Hospital May Day at the same time the Agency on Elderly Affairs is hosting the Outstanding Older American Month festivities at the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach (even saw Jaye Youn at the Kauai Museum and Kauai Marriott lei contest).
