PUHI — More than 600 people enjoyed “One Fine Evening” hosted by the Rotary Club of Poipu Beach at the Luau Pavilion at the Kilohana Estates.
“This is our club’s major fundraiser,” said Jan Pascua of the Poipu Rotary. “Our goal is to raise at least $30,000 for the club’s college scholarships for nursing and culinary arts programs at the Kauai Community College, service projects focused on youth and education, and community grants.”
Chris Young, president for the Rotary Club of Poipu, was happy with the community response to the club’s major fundraiser.
“I’m on Cloud 9 right now,” Young said. “We have more than 20 culinary arts students from the college who we could pair with professionals to offer a variety of food for people to enjoy.”
Artists like Patrick Ching were peppered through the arena offering demonstrations and artwork for sale, augmenting the silent auction area. Everything was blanketed by the liberal wine stations and live entertainment.
