POIPU — Marti Snyder topped the goat tying event on a 23.77-second average over two go’s to help her gain All Around Cowgirl honors when the Kauai All Girls Rodeo Association opened its six-rodeo series Sunday at the CJM Country Stables in Poipu.
Snyder, riding MC, also finished fourth in the 3rd D of barrel racing, third in the 3rd D of pole bending, and rounded out her day with a third finish in steer undecorating.
Coryssa Silva, riding Twister, put in the fastest time over the field of 40 riders in the 3D barrel racing event, breaking the 18-second mark with a 17.89 go. Twister also powered Coryssa to a second finish in the 1st D of pole bending, a mere 0.054 second below Alohi Blackstad.
She jumped aboard Diesel to top the 2nd D of that event on a 19.474 go, and finished fifth in the goat tying to finish as the Reserve All Around Cowgirl.
The next KAGRA rodeo will be held on March 5 starting at 10 a.m. at the CJM Country Stables in Poipu.
