LIHUE — The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the departmental draft of the General Plan update.
The hearing will be held during the commission’s Jan. 31 meeting, starting at 9 a.m. at the Lihue Civic Center, Mo‘ikeha Building Meeting Rooms 2A and 2B.
A presentation and educational workshop on the departmental draft will also be part of the meeting.
“The departmental draft of the General Plan Update is the culmination of 20 months of public input and a two-year planning process,” said Michael Dahilig, planning director.
The General Plan serves to guide future growth through a vision, policies and maps. Upon approval, the departmental draft will update the existing General Plan.
Oral and written testimony will be accepted during the hearing. Written testimony can also be submitted to the Planning Commission at plankauai@kauai.gov. To download the draft, go to www.plankauai.com. A printed copy is also available for review at the Planning Department’s front counter.
