Open call for roller derby

KAPAA — Garden Island Renegade Rollerz is kicking off the 2017 roller derby season with an introductory class at 5:30 p.m. Jan 17 at the Kapaa Hockey Rink.

The class is a chance to get acquainted with the sport in multiple ways including as a skater, an official, and in volunteer capacities selling tickets, announcing at the games, or keeping score.

GIRR will help train individuals in their areas of interest.
