LIHUE — The deadline for the re-certification of Additional Dwelling Units outside the residential zoning district has been extended.
The bill recently passed by the Kauai County Council Oct. 5 and signed into law by Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr.
Pursuant to Kauai County Ordinance No. 1006 is June 30, 2017.
Failure to successfully complete a re-certification application by the June 30 deadline will result in the loss of all entitlements for building and zoning permits associated with a potential ADU.
In order to apply for re-certification, the applicant must already have an ADU Facilities Clearance Form that was completed on or before June 15, 2007.
A $250 fee must be submitted along with the application.
The re-certification forms are available at the Planning Department counter at the Lihue Civic Center, Kapule Building.
