Edith Mieko Ruiz
Edith Mieko Ruiz, formerly of Lawai passed away in Phoenix, Arizona on Nov. 9, 2016, at the age of 74. Born on Aug. 20, 1942, in Koloa, she retired from the Sheraton Kauai Resort in 2007.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Jisuo and Ichiko Marugame, brother Roy Marugame, son Derek Ruiz, granddaughter Brandi-lei Moises, grandson Jace Ruiz and great-grandson Grason Offutt.
Edith is survived by her husband, Donald Ruiz; daughters, Donna Moises (Lucky) of Lacomb, OR, Wendy Ruiz (Paul Buse) of Phoenix, AZ, son Scott Ruiz of Kapaa; three grandchildren, Rhiannon Offutt (Joe) of Lebanon, OR, Kaylee Ruiz of Omao, and Luana Moises of Springfield, OR; sister Juliet Koyanagi (Tom) of Torrance, CA, brother Kenneth Marugame of Kalaheo; seven great-grandchildren and numerous uncles, aunties, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Koloa Missionary Church on Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016.
Visitation will be held at 9 a.m. followed by a service at 10 a.m.

Ezera Kai Pa
Ezera Kai Pa of Hanalei and Molokai passed away at Wilcox Hospital Sept. 29, 2016, at the age of 78. Ezera was born in Hanalei on May 12, 1938.
He is survived by his wife Joyce Pa, Hanai son Henry Kalani Nuhi, sister Winona Elkins, sister-in-law Darlene Yvonne Pa, both of Anahola. Also many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of life and scattering of ashes will take place Saturday, Nov. 26, 2016, at noon at Black Pot Beach Park in Hanalei.
