POIOPU — RumFire Poipu Beach announced that ‘Aha Punana Leo o Kauai will receive proceeds from its Table 53 program in December.

The fundraising program at Sheraton Kauai Resort’s oceanfront restaurant donates net food and beverage proceeds from the designated table to a different local organization each month, and it has raised over $150,000 toward charitable causes.

‘Aha Punana Leo o Kauai is a nonprofit organization with programs including its Punana Leo preschools. The schools perpetuate both Hawaiian language and culture, and students perform around the island in the Hawaiian language, including at the Sheraton Kauai Resort during the holiday season.

The organization’s mission statement is “E ola ka ‘olelo Hawaii,” translates to, “The Hawaiian language shall live.”
