2 men arrested in killing

LIHUE — Two Waimea men have been arrested in connection with the slaying of 34-year-old Jon Togioka.

Koma Texeira, 20, and Clayton Kona, 38, were arrested on one count of murder each, according to a release from the Kauai Police Department.

Togioka’s unresponsive body was found by a male bystander shortly before 7 a.m. Nov. 1 while he was walking along the shoreline near Port Allen Airport, also known as Burns Field, the release said.

An autopsy performed Nov. 2 confirmed that Togioka had sustained multiple gunshot wounds.

Texeira and Kona are being held in police cellblock in lieu of $500,000 bail and are expected to be charged this week.
