Two men arrested in connection with Togioka homicide

LIHUE — Two Waimea men have been arrested in connection to the murder of Jon Togioka.

Koma Texeira, 20, and Clayton Kona, 38, were arrested for murder, according to a release from the Kauai Police Department.

Togioka’s unresponsive body was found by a male bystander shortly before 7 a.m. on Nov. 1, while the bystander was walking along the shoreline near the Port Allen Airport.

An autopsy performed Nov. 2 confirmed that Togioka had sustained multiple gunshot wounds, the release said.

Texeira and Kona are being held in police cellblock in lieu of $500,000 bail and are expected to be charged in court later this week.
