Body found near Salt Pond Beach identified

HANAPEPE — The body discovered near Salt Pond Beach Tuesday morning has been identified.

Police identified the body as 34-year-old Jon Togioka, of Kekaha, according to a press release.

Following an autopsy, which occurred Wednesday, his death has been ruled as a homicide.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case and detectives are asking anyone with information to come forward.

The investigation began at around 7 a.m. Tuesday morning, when a man was walking along the shoreline near Salt Pond and discovered Togioka’s unresponsive body and called 911, the release said.
