Congratulations to Wally Rezentes Jr. on being named the county’s new managing director!
Wally said he’s already hit the ground running, being stuck on Oahu for business instead of getting to the Contractors Association of Kauai scholarship meeting (Lawton Sugihara said he was the Hawaii Gas volunteer since everyone else was at the Kauai Chamber of Commerce 2nd Quarter meeting).
Mahalo to Kaui Tanaka for the heads-up on the Papeno‘o Tahiti sister city reaffirmation (actually Chantal Zarbaugh already spilled the beans since Kukui Grove Center is hosting the Tahitian delegation Friday to a day of lei-making, mat-making and preparations for the Tahiti Fete which opens Saturday at the Kapaa Beach Park (and yes, there is an admission charge to this one).
Friday is a day of culture as Sherri Holcomb hosts the Charity Craft Fair Friday at the Kauai Marriott Resort and Beach Club followed by the Hula Tribute starting at 5:30 p.m. This event is “complimentary.”
It appears Kumu Hula Leina‘ala Pavao Jardin is going to be like Wally, and running since her halau is at a lot of these events.
Have a safe and happy Fourth of July!
