LIHUE — Daylight Donuts’ Lihue location is partnering with The Salvation Army – Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division to provide customers with one free donut while supplies last from 6 to 11 a.m. Friday to celebrate National Donut Day.
A percentage of sales of additional donuts during the event will benefit The Salvation Army.
In addition, all Salvation Army Thrift stores in Hawaii will provide free donuts, while supplies last. And, they will offer 25 percent off all thrift store items except furniture.
The Salvation Army started National Donut Day 78 years ago as a way to raise funds and bring awareness to their social service programs.
Donut Day is held the first Friday of June each year.
