DIY Network is looking for people living in Hawaii to be part of a new series titled “Love Yurts” — a show that will bring to life the dream of living inexpensively and minimalistically in paradise.
According to a news release the network is creating the series to follow the trend of yurt living in Hawaii, which has become popular becaused yurts are “the housing market’s newest wave of living green.” They are known for being easy to build and easy to transport when necessary.
The show will spotlight clients and the “Love Yurts” builders as they customize selected yurt bungalows to be as unique as their owners. Featured yurt-owners will be required to cover the cost of building the yurt themselves, but the DIY Network crew will do the work and will “build the most hip and tricked-out yurt you’ve ever imagined,” according to the release.
The series will follow yurt-owners for the next four to six months.
