LIHUE — A Lihue man accused of sexually assaulting two underage girls was indicted by a grand jury on four separate sex charges.
Police said Eirik Stevens, 49, allegedly used barbecue flavored pretzel bites, bags of chips, Hi-chew candy, and other snacks to lure a 7-year-old girl into his Lihue apartment where he then sexually assaulted her.
Stevens is charged with two counts of first degree sexual assault and two counts of attempted sexual assault in the third degree.
Stevens is a former volunteer at the Boys and Girls Club of Lihue where he is said to have met a second victim, an 8-year-old girl, according to police reports.
In that incident, Stevens allegedly repeatedly attempted to inappropriately touch the 8-year-old.
He was arrested on April 5 without incident and interviewed at the Lihue police station, according to KPD.
First degree sex assault is a class A felony and punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of $50,000.
Stevens is being held at Kauai Community Correctional Center.
