Kapaa High School, the Kauai Interscholastic Federation champions for both girls and boys basketball, earned the top spots for the respective sports in an announcement by the KIF Tuesday afternoon.
Willy Aki earned Coach of the Year honors for the girls basketball team with Paea Tafea nailing the Player of the Year award.
Tafea was named to the all star guard position and joined by teammate Tori Daligcon being named to one of the forward positions.
Runner-up Kauai High School finished with three players being selected, including Taegan Keep nailing the center position. Malyssa Manera secured one of the forward positions and Marissa Martinez was named Utility player.
Guard Monique Joy Lorenzo, Waimea High School sophomore, was the sole Menehune to secure an all star spot.
John Kaneholani was selected the Coach of the Year for the boys basketball program and all star center Mosese Fifita garnered Player of the Year honors.
The KIF boys basketball champion Warriors also fielded Saxton Shiira and Christopher Yam in the forward positions.
Kaone Miguel, Kauai power shooter, filled in one of the guard positions.
Kekoa Tecson, who was injured just a game short of the season, was chosen as the Utility player.
Waimea fielded Briggs Agu to the guard position alongside Miguel.
