Matthew Estrada said he got to see the University of Hawaii football arena. He was helping Chantal Zarbaugh (poor thing, Mariah Dias was getting swamped with phone calls) and Matthew jumped in to help while his mother waited to finalize her Christmas shopping on Monday.
Matthew said he just got back from Honolulu where he got to watch his aunt, Jill Niitani, get her master’s degree during the University of Hawaii graduation, and got to see the football arena afterward.
Kudos to Rosie Carillo who spent her entire day, Monday, coordinating Christmas for more than a hundred kids who have challenges: first with the Shop with a Cop (the angel was floating around the Kmart store), and then with the Luis Soltren, Ace Hardware, and Chad Waters Christmas program at Kukui Grove where the children got a McDonald’s lunch, a $100 shopping spree at Kmart, and a movie.
Lt. Rod Green (his wife Barbara — Anela is a name he gave her because she is an angel — was out doing the blankets for the Liberty Dialysis on behalf of the Kauai Filipino Women’s Club) had his troops out to get a photo with Santa and shop with keiki who got a $50 gift card from Kmart and an additional $75 from a secret angel.
