KAPAA — If you’re going to visit the Kapaa Public Library, Lani Kawahara said to leave your cameras at home because “the boys (Greg Nitta used to write for TGI, and whose birthday was it?)” and Caroline Abrams (she saw the cows at the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair, and we won’t get into Lani’s term), the new LA3 (library assistant?) don’t do pictures.
Isobel Storch (not used to seeing her outside the farmer’s market) said the library is hosting its annual Friends used book and bake sale next weekend (Lani said it’s the same time as the Coconut Festival) so people can add to their collections.
Kudos to Jim Jung and Jeffrey Pears on a great International Day of Peace event (the dove kites were designed for one of the Olympics, Jim said), and it was great to see Kyle Chew (he was practicing his origami with Rev. Nicole Sakurai) and Aki Conquest (she was in Bali setting up another branch of Joyful Noise). Michael and Carrie Fox did an amazing job with the music and Risa Whetsel’s (she shoots air rifles for Island School besides driving boats) mom was busy helping with the Rotary Club of Kapaa, who helped serve up the free meal.
