Jazz & Wine

The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villas announces the 6th annual Westin Princeville Jazz and Wine Festival will be held from 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Sep. 19, on the resort’s main lawn overlooking the Pacific Ocean high above Anini Beach.

Hawaii kamaina and visitors from around the world are invited to mingle and savor an evening under the stars, featuring wines, island-inspired cuisine from the island’s top chefs and jazz music. Proceeds from the event’s annual silent auction will benefit the Kaua‘i Lifeguard Association.

The North Shore is the backdrop for The Westin Princeville Jazz and Wine Festival, which features a variety of dishes from the island’s premier chefs, including The Westin Princeville’s Nanea Restaurant & Bar and Wailele Bar.

The event will also showcase cuisine from St. Regis Princeville’s Kauai Grill & Makana Terrace, Sheraton Kauai Resort’s RumFire Poipu Beach, BarAcuda Tapas & Wine and Hukilau Lanai.

Guests will have the chance to pair the extravagant fare with nearly 20 different global wines from a variety of sought-after vineyards. Dynamic entertainment will be performed by Joyful Noise taiko drumming, Treysara and friends, and headliner Abe Lagrimas, Jr.

Abe Lagrimas, Jr. is a versatile multi-instrumentalist. Originally from O’ahu, Lagrimas has performed throughout the world on drums, vibraphone and ‘ukulele in many different musical situations. Each of his albums have been nominated in the annual Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts’ Na Hoku Hanohano awards, and his most recent release, “Rhythm & Uke,” was nominated in the “Jazz Album of the Year” category in 2015.

Throughout the evening, a silent auction will benefit Kauai Lifeguard Association that will include hotel stays, airfare, activities and dining certificates as part of The Westin Princeville’s year-long, ongoing effort to give back to its community.

The resort has raised over $60,000 for KLA through past Jazz & Wine events.
