LIHUE — A sewage spill happened at the Princeville Wastewater Treatment Plant sometime between Sunday and Monday, according to Marshall Lum, a supervisor of the state Department of Health’s Wastewater Branch.
“Our Kauai engineer informed me that there was a spill, but beyond that I don’t know too much more,” Lum said. “I just know that it happened. I don’t have any details at all.”
The Kauai District Health Office referred a reporter’s request for comment to Marshall.
No further information about the spill was available by deadline Monday evening.
