County officials announced that wet and muddy conditions have resulted in service disruptions at the Hanalei, Hanapepe and Kapaa refuse transfer stations.
Green waste service continues to be closed at the Hanalei transfer station today.
Green waste and appliance recycling is also closed at the Kapaa transfer station. In addition, loose mixed waste is not being accepted at this site until further notice due to a mechanical problem. The facility is still accepting bagged trash along with scrap metal, motor oil and tire recycling.
The Hanapepe transfer station is not accepting green waste and all recycling is down, with the exception of motor oil recycling.
Residents wishing to utilize these services are encouraged to visit the Lihue transfer station until conditions improve.
