Kudos to Josie Pablo and the entire staff of the hospital for pulling together this event which Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. described as an awesome way for people to come together and celebrate an ethnic tradition.
Keegan Kessler (she was a Keoki’s Paradise Ukes in Paradise winner) and Mikela Puig (she’s one of those outstanding North Shore soccer players) had their Ishigaki High School host students in tow, and Brian Yamamoto, Shar Ono and Kyoko Ikeda had the Okinawa Prefectural College of Nursing students enjoying the event along with the community.
Josie said Roy Morita had a lot of plants which were sold to help the hospital, and it’s a good thing Josh Palakiko, Timmy Kanahele and Robert Moody remember the recipe for fried ice cream since the dish was a bomb from start to end (even Joe Kaauwai was enjoying one).
