HONOLULU — The Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs Cable Television Division is currently in the renewal process of Oceanic Time Warner Cable LLC’s Kauai County cable television franchise.
As part of this renewal process, DCCA is holding two community meetings to gain feedback and comments from the community on how they may be able to benefit from services provided by Oceanic and its cable television system in Kauai County, and to obtain feedback on the public access services currently being provided by Hoike: Kauai Community Television.
“We will thoroughly review and consider all comments, input and related information received through these meetings in our evaluation of Oceanic’s renewal request,” said CATV Administrator Ji Sook “Lisa” Kim. “We encourage public participation, which will help the department to determine what factors to consider in the renewal process.”
The community meetings will be:
• Aug. 26, 5 p.m., Waimea Neighborhood Center Meeting Room, 4556 Makeke Road.
• Aug. 28, 5 p.m., Planning Commission meeting room, Kauai County Building, 4444 Rice Street, A 473
These community meetings will help to determine community needs and interests for Oceanic’s cable television service.
