Kudos to Katherine Williams and all those Kauai Island Utility Cooperative volunteers who distributed all those LED lamps Friday night. Earl Nishiguchi just waited until the line disappeared and started talking story with Ed Nakaya, and Shane Tokita even got Jett to go up and get a box. Shelley Paik said they’ll do another distribution out in Waimea and will probably have enough to do some giveaways at the Kauai County Farm Bureau Fair.
Melissa McFerrin Warrack was having a farm fair meeting Saturday outside the Kauai Pop Warner Football League season launch at Vidinha Stadium where Brittany Akau and Caitlin Plowman (she was at the Kauai Thunder-Kanu Elite title game for division 4, too) jumped in to help the Pop Warner people do anti-bullying sign-waving outside the Ace and Kuhio Ford stores.
Judy Capertino of Haole Girl Croissant is getting excited about opening the doors to her bakery on Wednesday starting at 7 a.m. in the Kinipopo Shopping Village. Check it out because she said if it’s gone by 9 a.m., the doors close. It’s a bake off!
