Kristen Low was the heeler for Wailana Blackstad in the Dally Team Roping event to finish third on an 11.87 go on one pass Sunday during the Kauai All Girl Rodeo Association fifth rodeo at the CJM Country Stables in Poipu.
The finish in the Dally Team Roping pushed Low into the All Around Cowgirl spotlight, edging out Cheyanne Tannery who was named Reserve All Around Cowgirl.
Low finished fifth with an 18.580 go in the 1st D of the barrel racing event, comparing to Tannery, who topped the 1st D on an 18.243 go.
The battle waged on in the pole bending event where Low ended fourth on a 23.246 go in the 1st D where Tannery ended second on a 22.839 go.
Tannery continued to pick up points in the goat tying event with her second finish of 27.356 average while Low missed the leaderboard, emerging in second place in the steer undecorating event on a 7.16 average over two goes.
The overall difference came in the Dally Team Roping event where Low did heeling duty for Wailana Blackstad.
The final KAGRA rodeo of the year will unfold on Aug. 16 with the grand entry starting things off at 10 a.m. at the CJM Country Stables.
