The Koloa Plantation Days Family Fun Run is Sunday at Poipu Beach Park.
There is a 5K and 10K run/walk that begins at 7:30 a.m., a 10 miler, with walkers going at 6:30 and runners at 7. A one-mile race for keiki starts at 9:30. The walking division for the 10 miler is new this year.
Hundreds of people compete in the different distances and courses, which are along the oceanfront and are generally flat and fast. All races start and finish at the park.
Late registration, $35, is 1 to 5 p.m. today at Poipu Beach Park, or 6-7 a.m. on race day. The keiki run is $15.
There will be refreshments and awards following the races.
Some of Kauai’s top runners are expected, including Michael Miller, Island School graduate, and Kaeo Kruse, who attends Kamhameha High School on Oahu but is from Kauai .
