Raelee Samio and Chyna Fernandez combined for 15 points to lead the Westside Girls to a 20-18 edge over Team Central girls Monday night during the Kaulupono Summer Basketball League games at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
Samio finished with eight points and Fernandez contributed seven points in the win while Caitlin Palacio, Bailey Perreira and Kaylee Alapai each finished with four points in the effort.
These games wrap up the Kaulupono Summer Basketball League matches with playoffs starting Tuesday.
Kiani Pia Salvador picked up the lead for the Dream Team, scoring 12 of the team’s 18 points in its win over Team Central, 18-14. Tia Jaquias and Alena Bernardo led the Team Central effort with six points each.
Jeremiah Harper kept the Supersonics from being white-washed, netting a pair in its 38-2 loss to the Kauai Thunder who got 13 points from Matthew Rivera and six points from Caleb Plowman.
Michael Questin fired off a game-high 14 points to lead Team Lihue to a 41-35 win over Papalina. Ernesto Alcones added eight points in the win.
Ridge Serraoan and Nakoa Andrade led the Papalina effort with nine and seven points, respectively.
The next games scheduled for Thursday include the playoffs for division 1 girls with the No. 2 seed going up against the third-seeded teams starting at 7 p.m. and the top seed taking on No. 4 starting at 8 p.m. at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
