Juggling the schedule since a morning fundraising Zumbathon for cancer shortened the day, Kaulupono Basketball played four games.
Kaulupono Blue, more affectionately labelled Pono on the floor, got its edge from a three-way contribution led by Monique Tomacder netting 13 points followed by Melia Okura with a dozen points and Monique Lorenzo adding 10 points.
Earlier in the day, Papalina also walked off the court with a 22-20 edge over the Lihue Lakers, Ridge Serraon dropping eight points and Ty Tsukayama adding six points for Papalina.
Kelson Rapozo and Austin Renaud led the Lakers’ effort with five points apiece.
Tia Jaquias of Team Central and Jaley Medeiros of Central Hoops were close together in scoring, Jaquias finishing the day with eight points and Medeiros ending with six points. But the close scoring did not help Central Hoops who fell 16-6 to Team Central.
The nightcap saw Kaulupono rise to a 47-17 win over the Westside Girls, Kaye Serapio leading the Kaulupono charge with 11 points. Chyna Fernandez topped the Westside Girls’ effort on four points.
