Michael Mangrobang, a graduate of Kauai High School and Kauai Community College, has a good mentor in Eve Domingcil (her son Bo Domingcil did a bang-up job setting up the Kauai Hospice’s Concert in the Sky!) at the Kauai Fire Department.
Michael was on hand Thursday to get photos of Bryson Vivas and Sam Keale Lee III during the Good Samaritan recognition ceremony since Kauai Fire Chief Robert Westerman and Ocean Safety Bureau supervisor Kalani Vierra (he said it was roasting when he got to the KAGRA rodeo last Sunday) were both on hand to congratulate the real life heroes.
Jojo Kawamura is back this year, helping the Kauai Hospice, and even Chef Rafael Camarillo (Jason Fujinaka said he hasn’t heard about him for a while) was helping cut the Kauai-grown watermelon. Since it was so hot, how many “samples” were there? Arnold Leong of The Fah Inn was there (at least his truck was), but he was moving so fast, there was no chance to check out the malasada machine.
OK, the Concert in the Sky is done. Now to check out some smoked meat for the Kawaihau Intermediate 50-70s.
