Alton Amimoto said if the watermelons are from the Westside, they’re going to be real sweet. Thursday night Alton and Shari (she’s the go-to person for anything UH) were at Na Koa Football Club and Sandi Kato-Klutke said they were planning on giving away 10 watermelon (preferably to fathers for Father’s Day).
Kudos to Mark Oyama and Kim Fujiuchi on pulling off a great event where Norm Chow brought over some of his coaching staff and Dickie Chang (Bruce Smalling was working two cameras) asked if anyone knew what kind of socks Coach Chow was wearing.
Phil Worwa (he’s got the kids doing disc golf at the Puakea Golf Academy on Thursdays) and Mayor Bernard Carvalho Jr. both made it to the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours hosted by Layton Construction at the new Safeway store before coming over to meet the coach.
If Michael Dahilig couldn’t be found at the Thursday Truck Night at the beer company on Rice Street, it was because he was meeting the coach along with David and Shirley Iha, April and Tom Shigemoto, and Dick Ueoka.
