9th Island Sports Bar & Grill
Barbecue is a popular favorite for many fathers out there and 9th Island Sports Bar & Grill has a Father’s Day special serving just that: BBQ Chicken & Rib Combo which includes garlic mashed potatoes on the side served with locally-sourced greens for $15.95.
There’s several flat screens to enjoy and watch your favorite team or TV show.
“It’s clean, comfortable, and there’s great company,” said employee Shannon Crandell.
9th Island Sports Bar & Grill is at 4831 Kuhio Highway No. 206 in Kapaa. Their number is 822-7773. They’re open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., Monday-Friday and from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Pau Hana Bar & Grill
Fish and chips is what’s on the table for this restaurant’s Father’s Day special. Their fish and chips are beer-battered, served with waffle fries and housemade tartar sauce. They are described as “mild, meaty, and delicious” by manager Shaughnessie Sturdivant. Sturdivant says that Pau Hana Bar and Grill is a more than ideal place to bring your father to enjoy a meal this weekend.
“We’re definitely the perfect hideway for a man,” Sturdivant said.
Pau Hana Bar & Grill can be found at 4831 Kuhio Highway in Kapaa. Their number is 821-2900. Their hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. everyday except Sundays, when they are open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Bubba Burgers (Poipu, Hanalei, Kapaa)
If you’re wondering what kind of burger to get for dad on Father’s Day, Bubba Burgers in Poipu has the answer for you: the Double Bubba with cheese, bacon, and a side of onion rings and French fries. The double bubba has two patties, and comes with mustard and onion, and a ketchup-based relish.
Courtney Iwai who works at Bubba Burgers at The Shops at Kukuiula in Poipu, says one of the things that make getting a meal from Bubba’s on Father’s Day relaxing.
“It’s easy to get fresh food to go and take food to the beach, and you wouldn’t have to wait too long,” Iwai said.

Kalapaki Joe’s (Waimea)
A satisfying and hefty meal to serve up for Father’s Day that Kalapaki Joe’s recommends is the local-style New York steak. It includes grilled onions and teriyaki sauce, steamed white rice and garden salad. You can also get local style fried pork chops with cream of mushroom and sauteed seasoned veggies, if dad prefers.
