Rose Ella Roach said she was a sucker for raffle tickets. But it’s alright because she got one ticket at the Grove Farm Homesteads Museum’s Old Fashioned Games event and won the prize of a train party.
Scott Johnson said Rose has been lucky, the train party being her second straight win after earning a night’s stay (it turned into a weekend) at Mahamoku, the beach house built by the Wilcox family in Hanalei, last year.
Rose and Dave Roach showed up Friday for what Scott said was Paulo’s first train party, complete with a sack of red potatoes for baking in Paulo’s steam box during the train rides down the right-of-way.
Happy birthday to Cash, Russell and Susan McCluskey’s grandson who also had a gala birthday party down at the Niumalu Pavilion Friday. Susan said Cash was licking his chops when he saw another party during one of the senior softball games, so Friday, she told him that if he saw any little kids hanging around that he knew wasn’t invited, to invite them in.
OK, time to go check out Ellen Ching, Brad Nagano and Casey Reimer at the Easter Seals Golf at Kauai Lagoons.
