• Edward Nobriga
Edward John Lei Nobriga of Puhi passed away at home on June 4, 2015, at the age of 85. He was born in Huleia, Kauai, Hawaii on May 1, 1930. A Veteran of the United States Army, he retired as a Journeyman Mechanic with Grove Farm and McBryde Sugar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Mary and Joseph Nobriga Sr.; brother, Joseph Nobriga Jr.; sisters, Carrie Silva and Violet Fernandez.
Edward is survived by his wife, Josephine Nobriga of Puhi; five children, Cheryl (Ronald) Fujimoto of Lihue, Marian (Bill) Robinson of California, Kenneth (Verna) Nobriga of Puhi, Nathan G. Nobriga of Puhi, Josette Nobriga of California; 9 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Carreira of Lihue; brother, David (Eleanor) Nobriga Sr. of Puhi; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, June 12, 2015, at Immaculate Conception Church with visitation from 8:30 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Inurnment will follow at Kauai Veteran Cemetery in Hanapepe at noon.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Nobriga family with arrangements.
