Happy Camper for June 3, 2015

Helen Abreu and Jen Rodelo had the right idea — conducting a “business meeting” at the food court area of the Kukui Grove Center Monday.

Max Fulmer, the coordinator for the Kauai Community College Student Show 2015, was busy opening the student art show at the KSA Gallery with Victoria Aiu (she said she’s got one more month to be a “junior” for the Nawiliwili Yacht Club Junior Series).

Alison Thain was busy tweaking her display for that just right look, and Sylvia Fuji has two pieces in the show which runs only until Friday when Cami Matsumoto said she’ll be attending the Meet the Artist event from 6 to 8 p.m. at the KSA Gallery.

Aaron Haberman was working hard to keep the Poipu lifeguards dry (a dry lifeguard is a good lifeguard) in the epic south swell. The waves were so big even the monk seal moved to an area closer to the lifeguard tower.

Don’t forget, this Friday is the Salvation Army National Donut Day at Daylight Donuts from 6 a.m., and then, bon dance at the Waimea Shingon Hongwanji.
