LIHUE — Starting Thursday, motorists using the intersection at Umi and Hardy streets will need to seek alternate routes and allow extra time to reach their destinations.
The intersection is scheduled to close for eight weeks to allow for the construction of a roundabout, a part of the large-scale Hardy Street improvements project.
Warning signs have already been placed, advising motorists and pedestrians of the impending closure.
The roundabout project is scheduled to start on Thursday and continue until July 28, weather permitting.
