Meeting ‘The Leadership Challenge’

LIHUE — Acclaimed author Barry Posner will be featured Friday during a scholarship fundraising event for Leadership Kauai at the Kauai Sheraton Poipu Resort.

Posner is an internationally renowned scholar who co-authored with Jim Kouzes the award-winning and best-selling leadership book, “The Leadership Challenge.”

With more than 2 million copies sold, the book has been described as a groundbreaking research study that combines keen insights with practical applications.

Posner has been named as one of the nation’s top management and leadership educators by the International Management Council, and wrote the book “Fast Company,” which was translated into 20 languages, and listed among The Top 100 Business Books of All Time.

The evening with the theme “Liberate the Leader in Everyone,” kicks off with a meet-and-greet at 5 p.m. that will feature a RumFire special menu and no-host bar for a $35 donation. For a $75 donation, a book signed by the author will be included.

Posner is the Accolti Endowed Professor of Leadership at the Leavey School of Business at Santa Clara University in California’s Silicon Valley, where he served for 12 years as dean of the school. He is the recipient of the Association for Talent Development’s highest award for Distinguished Contribution to Workplace Learning and Performance.
