The Kokua Hawaii Foundation will be on Kauai on Saturday to deliver training to teachers, educators and the community on their Aina In Schools curriculum. Participants will also enjoy a farm-to-table lunch and a school garden tour of Kanuikapono Charter School through Malama Kauai’s Kauai School Garden Network.
“The Farm to School movement has been growing nationally and throughout the state of Hawaii. Kokua Hawaii Foundation has been training educators statewide to use the Aina In Schools K-6 curriculum in conjunction with this movement and is excited to work with the Kauai School Garden Network to host the first Kauai training,” said Natalie McKinney, director of program development at Kokua Hawaii Foundation.
Their focus is supporting environmental education in the schools and communities of Hawaii, with a mission to provide students with experiences that will enhance their appreciation for and understanding of their environment so they will be lifelong stewards of the planet. Educators and parents are encouraged to attend.
Tickets are $30 through Malama Kauai, available at www.malamakauai.org or by calling 828-0685 ext. 12.
