Officials advising no swimming on North Shore due to high surf

Ocean Safety officials are advising no swimming at all North Shore beaches due to hazardous ocean conditions, including high surf, strong shore breaks and dangerous currents.

A High Surf Advisory remains in effect for all north and west-facing shores of Kauai and Niihau. The National Weather Service reports that a large northwest swell is expected to keep surf above advisory levels through Tuesday.

The advisory may be extended or modified as conditions develop.
