KAUMAKANI – Gay & Robinson estimates that it will be today at the earliest when water will be restored to residents of Makaweli, Pakala and Kaumakani.
About 900 residents are impacted by the outage, which occurred Saturday morning when a pump failed.
Although this is a private water system, the Department of Water is assisting by providing potable water via two water buffaloes, stationed at the Pakala Post Office and the Kaumakani Thrifty Mart. Gay & Robinson is also making non-potable water available to residents.
Employees of Gay & Robinson are alerting residents in the affected communities about the available resources and timeline for repairs.
