TV kids offer fun for helping

“The girls are working and Grandpa Alan is home watching the grandkids,” said Annette Hashimoto of Kaila Kauai on Saturday. “We have to come out because the holidays have already started.”

Hashimoto was one of more than 20 vendors at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School media class fundraiser.

“We have three fairs and a breakfast scheduled,” said Kevin Matsunaga, the CKTV instructor. “We use these funds to help the kids get to the national Student Television Network conference on the Mainland where they have been doing well.”

Following the Saturday event, CKTV has scheduled another fair for Nov. 8, which will be combined with Troy Lazaro & Rockstar Fitness for a Zumbathon from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. in the Kilohana playcourt. The final fair takes place from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dec. 6 at the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School cafeteria.

“We can’t make all of the fairs, since we’ll be doing the All Saints’ fair in Kapaa,” said Joe Adorno of Two Guys with Aloha Shirts. “That’s our church so we have to support them.”

Matsunaga said vendors interested in participating in the upcoming fairs can call Gayle Konishi at 332-8483 for more information or to register.
