Congratulations to those voted the best of Kauai

The best. A lot of people, a lot of shops, a lot of restaurants, claim to be the best. But how do you know who really is the best?

Well, we let the residents of Kauai decide because we figure, they know best. The results of their votes were published in a special section in Sunday TGI’s, “Best of Kauai 2014: People’s Choice Awards.”

There were many categories covered here: food and dining, health and beauty, service and repair and retail and more. The 52-page section is a credit to the readers who took time to vote and put the spotlight on some of their favorite businesses and professionals. We know these folks work hard to provide valuable products and services to their customers and deserve the accolades coming their way.

In this section, you’ll learn who gets the nod as the best bakery, best place for a burger, who has the best coffee and where’s the best restaurant when it comes to family dining. You’ll find out the best place to dance, the best auto parts store, the best place to order flowers and the top pick for buying furniture and doing your grocery shopping. If you were wondering about where the best places are for jewelry, health food, lumber, Kauai-made products and attorney, the residents who voted in the Best of Kauai 2014 are happy to let you know. You’ll even discover who was named the best attorney, the best insurance agent the best doctor and the best veterinarian.

If you haven’t had a chance to check out the Best of Kauai, we’ll share a few of the top picks: Best Surf Shop: Deja Vu Surf Hawaii; Best Health Food Store: Papaya’s Natural Food and Cafe; Best Luau: Smith Tropical Paradise; Best Scenic Golf Course: Princeville Golf Course; Best Happy Hour: Kalapaki Joe’s; Best Pizza: Brick Oven Pizza; and the Best Fitness Center: Kauai Athletic Club.

We hope you can visit some of these places on Kauai, chat with their owners and staff and give them a try. They are, you may decide too, the absolute best.

The Best of Kauai 2014 section is available at The Garden Island office, 33137 Kuhio Highway.
