Kauai’s Joe Kali completed the Ironman World Championship on the Big Island on Saturday.
The 29-year-old covered the 112-mile race in 11 hours, 27 minutes and 16 seconds, good for 1,128 place overall out of 2,187 runners.
His time on the opening leg, a 2.4-mile swim, was 1:10.35. His time on the 112-mile bike ride was 6:21.40. He finished the final leg, a 26.2-mile run, in 3:47.28.
Kali also completed the Ironman World Championship last year and has completed Ironman New Zealand twice.
