Kauai grad earns broadcasting scholarship

LIHUE – Kauai High School graduate Dillon Ancheta recently earned a $2,000 Hawaii Association of Broadcasters scholarship.

“It reminds me that people care about me,” Ancheta said.

The award is part of the association’s annual $48,000 scholarship given to 26 high school seniors and college students. A 2.5 grade point average and a desire to work in the broadcast industry in Hawaii upon completion of school are the requirements.

Ancheta is in his first semester at the University of Hawaii Manoa.
