Estanislao Idica Yago
Estanislao Idica Yago of Puhi, passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 24, 2014, at the age of 81. He was born on May 8, 1933, in Sinait, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and retired as a drip irrigator for McBryde Sugar Plantation.
He is preceded in death by his son, Marcelino Yago; parents, Pedro and Sarquia Yago; sister-in-law, Juliana Yago; brother-in-law, Dominador Saludez.
He is survived by his spouse, Trinidad Yago of Puhi; daughter, Liz Yago (James McNichols) of Hanamaulu; three grandchildren, Tiana (Dante) Sudaria, Tyton Nunes and K’Len Nunes; four great-grandchildren, Jayden Sudaria, Cato Sudaria, Sesley Sudaria and Gianna Sudaria; brothers, Filemon (Esperanza) Yago of Puhi, Rudolpho Yago of Puhi; sisters, Eugenia (Santos) Pagat of Oahu, Matildi Saludez of the Philippines; step-brothers, Adolph Yago and Alden Yago of Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, October 10th at Immaculate Conception Church in Kapaia with viewing from 8:00 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Donna Yamamoto
Donna Yamamoto of Koloa passed away on September 18, 2014 at the age of 58. She was a tennis club attendant at Poipu.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Claudio and Lillian Lumacad, and is survived by her former husband Robert Yamamoto, her children Lon (Malia) Raposas, Donya (Tony) McKnight, Dane (Darcy) Yamamoto, Rusty Yamamoto, her brother, Claude (Karen) Lumacad, her grandchildren, Kylie, Nissa, Navaeh, Kalawaia, Mailani and Kainnan, and her family friend, Deuce Psstibone.
A celebration of Donna’s life will be held on Saturday October 11, 2014, at Kukuiula Boat Harbor at 10am. Leis welcome. Arrangements were handled by Brothwick Mortuary.
Valie Acorda Visaya
Valie Acorda Visaya of Kekaha, Kauai passed away on September 28, 2014 at the age 78 at Straub Hospital. Born on February 27, 1936 in Isabella, Philippines, he was a housekeeper.
She is Survived by her husband: Joaquin Visaya, two daughters: Eliza Villarino and Evelyn (Robert) McClurg, her three sons: Villamor (Loida) Visaya, Jhomar (Kathy) Visaya, Nelson (Brenda) Visaya, her sister Perpetua Ilarde, her 15 grandchildren, two great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday October 11, 2014 at Immaculate Conception Church from 8:00 am to 9:45 am, where mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Timothy T.J Jimerez
Timothy T.J Jimerez of 53 years passed away on August 2, 2014 in Sacramento Ca. Born on March 17, 1961, he was a drywall taper with Hawaii Partions Systems Inc.
He is preceded in death by his father, Joe Jimerez, and is survived by his wife Marcia (Carvalho) Jimerez, his mother Anita Castaneda, his brother, Mark Jimenez, both of Sacramento Ca. his sister, Uiann (Rick) Mack of Kenai, Alaska, and numerous family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on October 12, 2014 from 1pm to 4pm. At 3338 Eono St. (across from Lihue Neighborhood Center).
Sosei Chinen
Sosei Chinen of Kekaha, died on October 2, 2014 at Wilcox Memorial Hospital at the age of 85. He was born on May 3, 1929 in Kekaha and was a retired power house plant operator with Kekaha Sugar.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Doris Chinen; and survived by his four sons, Randy (Verna) Chinen of Kekaha, Mark (Ella Kaohi) Chinen of Ele’ele, Ryan Chinen of Honolulu, Robin (Stacey) Chinen of Wailua Homesteads; one daughter, Marlene (Mike) Matutino of Kekaha; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; four brothers, Dusty Chinen of Kirkland, WA., Robert Chinen of Newport News, VA., Thomas (Noreen) Chinen of Monterey Park, CA., Edward (Remy) Chinen of Kalaheo; two sisters, Mitsue Hammond of Olympia, WA., and Irene (Jay) Rhee of Redondo Beach, CA.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be held on October 11, 2014 with visitation at 9AM and services to follow at 10AM at the Waimea United Church of Christ, officiated by Pastor Olaf Hoeckman.

Mac C. Cabalo Sr.
Mac C. Cabalo Sr. of Lihue died on October 3, 2014 at home at the age of 88. He was born on January 1, 1926 in Narvacan Ilocos Sur, Philippines. He was a heavy equipment operator with Grove Farm.
He is survived by his wife, Sally Cabalo; son Mac (Sandra Kaneshiro-Cabalo) Cabalo Jr. of Honolulu, Hawaii; three daughters, Arlene (Stephan) Bautista of Torrance, California, Delia Cabalo of Emeryville, California, and Cindy Cabalo of Irvine, California; sister-in-law Alejandra Cabalo of Maui; two grandchildren, Micah Cabalo and Shayla Cabalo of Honolulu, Hawaii, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on October 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. at the Lihue Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints with services from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. and burial to follow at the Kauai Memorial Gardens.
The family request casual attire and to omit flowers.

James Edwin Bernard Bailey
James Edwin Bernard Bailey, 87, of Lihue, Kauai passed away on October 6, 2014. Formerly of Maili, Oahu, he was born in Sayre, Oklahoma. He was a retired U.S. Navy Veteran who served during World War II and the Korean War. He was also retired as a Pearl Harbor rigger.
Our beloved Papa was preceded in death by his wife, Laura Bailey and survived by his daughters Jamie (Donald) Ouderkirk, Kayla Bailey, Carol Gouveia, Sheila Andrade, and Cheryl Obrero; sons Raymond (Addie) Bailey, Darryl Diamond, Thomas (Lisa) Bailey, and Mark Asuncion, brother Bo (Winnie) Bailey; and numerous grandchildren and great-grand children.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Yoshiko Moriwaki Kono
Yoshiko Moriwaki Kono of Lihue, Kauai, Hawaii died peacefully on September 20, 2014 at Garden Island Heathcare. Born on July 01, 1916, she was 98 years old. She is preceded in death by her husband, Shigeru Kono, sisters, Kathryn (joe) Tokita and Hisayo (Mitsuo) Yagawa; brother Yutaka (Jean) Moriwaki. Yoshiko is survived by sons Stanley (Jolene) Kono, Clyde (Jean) Kono, 5 grandchildren and 6 great grand children. She was retired from Wilcox Hospital. Throughout her long life, she enjoyed traveling, gardening, sewing and cooking.
A private service was held at Lihue Hongwanji with family.

Ramona Salud Villa
Ramona Salud Villa of Hanamaulu passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on September 28, 2014, at the age of 87. She was born in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines on August 11, 1927, and worked for many years at Wailua Marina Restaurant.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jose Villa. She is survived by her three daughters, Lorenza Salud of Hanamaulu, Eliza (Miles) Koide of Puhi, Joselyn (Scott) Collins of Hanamaulu; 6 grandchildren, Sylvia (Scott) Salud-Rayno, Anne (Scott) Maichel, Arlene (Roger) Hyde, Janice (Jeff) Doty, Shaun Koide, Sara Koide; 6 great-grandchildren, Madison Rayno, Luke Rayno, Samantha Doty, Chase Doty, Kaitlyn Doty, Dakota Maichel; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014, Lihue Baptist Church with viewing from 8:30 a.m. and services celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Villa family with arrangements.

Christine Paler Pardua of Lihue passed away in Wilcox Memorial Hospital on August 21, 2014, at the age of 73. She was born in Lihue, Kauai on September 28, 1940.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Honorata Pardua Sr.
She is survived by seven children, Angie Pardua, Frederick Pardua, Dorrick Pardua, Honorato Pardua Jr., David Pardua, Laurenilla “Laurie” Pardua, Elfrina Thuente; numerous grandchildren; brother, Milton Corpuz, Clarence (Sharon) Corpuz; sister, Paula (Harold) Rosa, Patricia (Thomas) Rivera; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 with graveside services at Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe beginning at 12:00 noon. Pot luck gathering to follow at Salt Pond Beach pavilion.

Yukiko Kuboyama
Yukiko Kuboyama of Kapaa, Kauai passed away on September 5, 2014 at the age of 97 at her home in Kapaa, Kauai. Born on June 17, 1917 in Kilauea, Kauai she was retired as a proprietor of Kapaa Liquor and Wine Company.
She is survived by her three sons Stanley (Sharon) Kuboyama, Haven Kuboyama and Lyle Kuboyama, her daughter Faith (Milton) Okuhara, her two sisters, Sumie Kujubu Carol Kanna, 3 grandsons, 2 great grandchildren and her caregiver, Mary Sotelo.
Private services were held. No koden. Funeral arrangements were handled by Borthwick/Kauai Mortuary.
