Happy Camper for Sept. 21, 2014

Good luck to Isaac Castillo (Waimea High School softball will miss you on the coaching staff) who will be moving to Oahu next week (more softball coaching opportunities await?).

Isaac was among the crew of seed companies who dropped off nearly five tons of food divided between the Kauai Independent Food Bank (Leona Perez said their Holiday Food and Fund Drive launched Sept. 15) and the Hawaii Foodbank, Kauai Branch (Wes Perreira is getting excited about the Letter Carriers drive).

The dropoff was a nice opportunity to catch up with Taryn Dizon (McS oxtail soup on Mondays in Hanapepe) and all those Westside people who never have time to chat in town.

Kudos to Kim Tamaoka and all her DOW folk on a great (historic 750 students) Make A Splash event Thursday. Mary Daubert was there coordinating the filming of the mayor’s show with an Oahu DOW representative who came over to view the event.
