Dewayne Kong
Dewayne George N.Y. Kong of Lihue, Kauai, died on August 31, 2014 at home at the age of 56. Born on December 16, 1957, in Honolulu, he was a District Manager-Kauai with Matson Navigation Company.
He is survived by his wife Donna Marie Kong and his girls, Poppy Ann and Daisy Bear, all of Lihue; step-son, Kenneth Reaves, Jr. of Lihue, Kauai; step-daughters, Tawnya Schoenick of Lihue and Christina Huff of Alabama; parents, Joseph and Edna Kong of Kahului, Maui; sisters, Joanne Kong of Kahului, Maui and Phyllis (Dayne) Wada of Mililani, Oahu; and his nieces and nephews, Kaylee, Nichele, Channey, and Jasen Wada, and Sarina Kong.
A celebration of Dewayne’s life will be held on September 14, 2014 at Garden Island Mortuary on Kauai. Visitation with family and friends to start at 10:00 am. Service at 11:30 am. Leis are welcome.
Private burial and Maui services to be held at a later date.

Thomas Ah Kong Aiona, Jr., 74, of Kohala, Hawaii, passed away on August 28, 2014 at home.
Born on December 6, 1939, in Kohala, Hawaii. He retired from Mauna Lani Bay Hotel Engineering Department and a Veteran of the US Marine Corps.
He is survived by his wife Breheda Salinas Aiona of Kohala, Hawaii, Sons: Martin (Lynette) Ellazar of Kona, Hawaii, Robert (Debbie) Ellazar of Kohala, Hawaii, Shannon (Emely) Aiona of Lihue, Kauai, Jesse Aiona of Kaneohe, Oahu; Brothers: Clifford (Cynthia) Aiona of Kohala, Hawaii; Larry (Linda) Aiona of Kona, Hawaii; Leonard (Pauline) Aiona of Indiana; Donavan (Sam) Aiona of Kohala, Hawaii; Sisters: Hannah (Gilbert) DeMotta of Hilo, HI; Adeline Cho of Honolulu, Oahu; Marion (Brian) Kim of Kohala, Hawaii; Laura (William) Yamamoto of Kohala, Hawaii; Evalani (Harvey) Caravalho of Kohala, Hawaii, 11 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.

Kimiko Yoshida
Kimiko Yoshida of Waimea, Kauai, died on September 2, 2014 at home at the age of 101. Born to Kiyojiro Sawada and Asayo Matsumoto on April 18, 1913 in Kekaha, Kauai, she loved to fish.
Preceded in death by her husband, Shizuo Yoshida, she is survived by her son Edward (Patti) Yoshida of Mililani, Hawaii, daughters, Violet (Kenneth) Smith of Waimea, Hawaii and Rose (Robert) Cashin of La Habra Heights, CA, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Demetrio Dace
Demetrio “Diming” Racca Dace of Puhi passed away at home on August 23, 2014, at the age of 78. He was born on June 21, 1936 in Santa Maria, Ilocos Sur, Philippines and retired as a Drip Operator with McBryde Sugar Company.
Preceded in death by his parents, Macario and Ysidra Dace; sister, Juanita Realista; son, Darrell Dace and granddaughter, Sienna Mae Dumlao.
He is survived by his wife, Trinidad Dace; five daughters, Marylou (Jose) Dumlao, Marlyn Dace, Dial Dace (Billy Celino) all of San Jose, California, Maribelle (Jessie) Semana of Puhi, Tracy (Christopher) Jambaro of Oahu; one son, Rolando (Toni) Dace of Puhi; 9 grandchildren, Brent Dumlao, Jose (Jacklyn) Dumlao Jr., Janna Dumlao, Shannon Semana, Angela Semana, Aubree Jambaro, Kaydee Jambaro, Blake Jambaro, Tyler Dace; 1 great-grandchild, Ryzah Mae; two brothers, Taurino (Gwen) Dace of Washington, Alejandro (Lydia) Dace of California; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on September 13, 2014, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. by Fr. Jerry Somera. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home assisted the Dace family with arrangements.
Sharon Yamagata
Sharon Matsuda Yamagata of Hanapepe, Kauai passed away on August 23, 2014 at home at age 70. Born on February 25, 1944 in Eleele, Kauai, she was an Administrative Officer with the Pacific Missile Range Facility.
She is survived by her daughter, Lichelle Iida of Lihue; mother, Haruno Souza of Lihue; sister, Peggy (Kay) Mochizuki of Kailua, Oahu; two grandchildren, Kristina Iida of Kapaa and Melissa Iida of Lihue; one great-grandchild, Dana Cardenas of Kapaa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 9:00am, service at 10:00am. Casual attire.

Dominga “Donnie” (Tabalno) Arellano of Eva Beach, Hawaii, passed away on August 10, 2014 at the age of 71. Born on July 29, 1943 in Paraduan Norte, Aparri, Cagayan, Philippines she was a Graduate of Kauai High School Class of 1962.
She is survived by her husband, Ignacio “Iggie” B. Arellano Jr.; son, Brent (Elvie) Arellano; daughters, Ingrid (Jim) Fern, Elodie Arellano, Janae (Bill) Akiona, Heidi (Kevin) Kama; brothers, Roman (Celestina) Tabalno, Vince Tabalno, Henry (Louise) Tabalno, Ismael (Victoria) Tabalno; sisters, Maria Baltazar, Marcelina Bumacod, 20 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren.
