Walter Niitani
Walter H. Niitani of Ele’ele passed away on May 18, 2014 at his home at the age of 83.
Born on June 1, 1930 in Honolulu, he retired with the County of Kauai.
He is survived by his son, Mark Niitani of Ele’ele, brothers, George Niitani of Ele’ele, Edwin (Masako) Niitani of Honolulu, and Charles (Janet) Niitani of Lihue, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Ele’ele from 9 am to 10:30 am, service to follow. Interment at Hanapepe Veterans Cemetery.

Kenneth Yasutake
Kenneth K. Yasutake of Hanapepe passed away on July 27, 2014 at home at age 74. Born on August 13, 1939 in Wailua, Kauai, he was an Electronic Technician with AT&T.
He is survived by his wife Sylvia K. Yasutake, son Jon (Jeanne) Yasutake of Honolulu, daughter Jaime (Bob) Yasutake of Hanapepe, brothers, Leslie (Carol) Yasutake of Wailiua and Donald (Annette) Yasutake of Honolulu, sister, Elaine (Roy) Morita of Kapaa, two grandchildren, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday August 16, 2014 at the Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai, with visitation at 2:00 pm and service at 3:00 pm. Casual attire. No flowers.

Chieko Oda
Chieko S. Oda of Hanamaulu passed away in Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital on July 11, 2014, at the age of 89. She was born on March 25, 1925.
She is survived by her husband, Arata Oda; 2 sons, 1 daughter, 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; one sister, one brother, numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were privately held. Family requests no Koden.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the Oda family with arrangements.
