Crowning the champions
Ori Uvira was well represented, winning three of the four top awards at the 2014 Heiva i Kauai which wrapped up Sunday at the Kapaa Beach Park.
Following two days of competitive dance by individual tane and vahine, Chazton Sasil, dancing in the 19-25 age group, and Jaeden Makaala, strutting his stuff in the 10-12 age group, captured the top senior and junior division tane champion awards, respectively.
Lani Costido, competing in the 19-25 vahine age group, completed the Ori Uvira winnings by being crowned the senior division vahine champion.
Jaedyn Keawe-Caspillo of Tamatea Nui O Kauai, dancing in the vahine 10-12 age group, was crowned the junior division champion.
Jo Manea, coordinator of the 2014 Heiwa i Kauai, said this year there were no group winners named.

Junior division
4-6: Cheyla Defries (Halau Hula o Leilani), Shayla Aiolupotea (Te Vai Ura Nui), Lailah Vinhaca (Ori Uvira).
7-9: Mahie Lum Won (Halau Hula o Leilani), Serina Oswald (Halau Hula o Leilani), Kaliah Ann Kaneakua (Halau Hula o Leilani).
10-12 tane: Jaeden Makaala (Ori Uvira).
10-12 vahine: Jaedyn Keawe-Caspillo (Tamatea Nui O Kauai), Tumata Denis-McRight (Temana Rose), Talia Suzuki (Tamatea Nui O Kauai).
Senior division
13-15: Brook Hauoli Hornos (Ori Uvira), Tehani Perkins (Te Vai Ura Nui), Tiffany Kiilau (Te Mana Rose).
16-18 tane: Tamatoa Jeshuahn Uta (Te Vai Ura Nui).
16-18 vahine: Tahra-Lee Kaui (Halau Hula o Leilani).
19-25 tane: Chazton Sasil (Ori Uvira), Nui Iopa (Te Mau Aito O Hiro), Randall Soares (Tamatea Nui o Kauai).
19-25 vahine: Lani Costido (Ori Uvira), Naomi Baldomero (Te Vai Ura Nui), Meleane Uta (Te Vai Ura Nui).
26-39: Harpreet Singh (Halau Hula o Leilani), Jaslynn Nuilani Ornellas (Ori Uvira), Francesca Diaz (Manutahi Tahiti).
